Llantrisant

A small Welsh village in the Rhondda valleys, nice little place to live in. Even though it is so small there is a huge retail park, and an ancient church at the top of a hill overlooking the village and the Talbot Green town. I fell in love with this place the day I came over here. My parents who visited and stayed with me for a while could not believe that this was a village, their impression of a village was entirely different. The weather obviously no different to that of anywhere else in the UK, rains most days.
But the situation of this village is interesting, to the south is the atlantic ocean and to the north the mountains and this village is situated on a small hilltop in the valley. So in summer if you are lucky and the sun is out you can either head to the many beaches or go to the brecon beacons national park in the mountains. Been living here for the past year and half and lot of things have happened in my life, would love to live here a bit longer if given a chance.

Kadamba

The other day one of my friends who happens to be from Karnataka and claims to be a Kannadiga casually was telling an other friend that Kannada will be extinct by 2160, crap , utter crap I thought and did not agree with him, how can someone claim a language will be extinct in another 150 yrs when it has survived for 2000 yrs and probably the 2nd oldest surviving Dravidian language after Tamil.
His arguement was that as more and more people learn English , Kannada will be lost as a spoken language and will only be in texts as Greek, Latin and Sanskrit are. Probably he does not know the story of Mayura Varma, the founder of Kadamba Kingdom, Famously protrayed by Dr Rajkumar in the movie 'Mayura' and the famous song ನಾನ್ ಇರುವುದೇ ನಿಮಗಾಗಿ ನಾಡು ಇರುವುದು ನಮಗಾಗಿ.
The great Kadamba was humiliated by the Tamil Pallava king as he was from Kannada speaking region and that humiliation of his language and land prompted Mayura to build a kingdom a Kannada kingdom, probably the only in the history of the world which was established to protect the pride of a language and land. Kannada of such greatness will survive till the end of the world.

Breathing Time

We have got a little breathing time, little time to recover fro years of abuse and onslaught by barbarians from the west, there is no deniying that we have gone back a 1000 yrs in terms of our civilisational achievements, and even though in this breathing time since Indian independence we are progressing a lot, but I am worried about the future we seem to have not learnt a single lesson from our past.

Mahadeshwara

Was listening to the song 'ನಿನ್ನ ಪೂಜೆಗೆ ಬಂದೆ ಮಹದೇಶ್ವರ' from the movie Psycho , it is a really good song, I congrats to the music director for bringing such a lovely song, fusion of western and kannada music, this is what the youngsters of Karnataka and bangalore in particular need, not just blindly follow the western habits and ideas, know your roots first, if it is strong you can grow if it is week then god save you and our culture.

Was partition of India a good thing?

Its difficult to say as of now, but probably time will prove if it was a good thing or bad, but it has been the best thing to have happened for Indian Civilisation and Indian religions for the last 1000 years. As for as the Indian culture and religions are concerned such as Hinduism in its various forms, Jainism, Buddhism and Sikhism this is the time for revival and flourish without the fear orf prosecution by the intolerant Muslim rulers as in the past.

So as far as our culture and religions are concerned its a good thing in a way that there is no harassment form muslims but this has let to various castes taking over the mantle of being the ruling class and the unity among Hindus is diminishing. Also the growth and revival of hinduism which happened in the 18th and 19th centuries such as the Arya Samaj and Brohma Samaj is not happening, atleast Hindua co go to their temples and pray to whichever god they wish.

About India itself as an entity, the best thing would have been the complete partition i.e the whole population of Muslims should have been chased out to their dreamland of Pakistan as Hindus and Sikhs have been chased out of Pakistan since before Independence.

To take the positives out of what we have now, is that we have a manageble population of muslims in India and they are evenly spread out with the exception of Kashmir which has a majority population. Managing the muslims of pakistan and bangladesh along with India's would have been extreamly difficult and probably muslims would be ruling India by now, as they as a group are much more united then the hindus.

India as a country itself is intact partly due to pakistan, has history has shown that muslim invaders were able to easily defeat Indian kings as they were never united and did not help each other, and people are well aware that they cannot face the threat of muslim invasion of india unless they are united. Moreover the prescence of muslim minoroty in india itself is an uniting factor for Hindus as every caste of hindus are hostile towards muslims when it comes to country and religion, in the abscence of this significant minority probably there would have been more intercaste wars to deal with.

The drawback of having such a significant minority is the sympathy majority of muslims have towards pakistan which inturn is leading to more and more terrorist attacks on india. No denial that some muslims love India but only time will test them. As for now we should make the most of what we have create a strong india which can supress any revolt against it ruthlessly without fearing any country and revive the past glory of Hindu and \indian civilisation, revive its ancient arts and culture..

What do women really want?

Even god doesn't know, which probably sums it all, though I just have had one experience of trying to do my best to keep her(women) happy and entertained and to make her love me, but it turned out that it was not good enough , I could not balance out things, I was humiliated, i was laughed at by people without any ethics or values in life, Left me with a bitter experience which I am at the moment trying seriously to overcome.

So this query will remain unanswered for ever I think , as nobody knows what women really want, the best thing to do is ignore her and carry on with your life.

Midnights Children

Sitting in my room alone contemplating things, my life, my journey and my achivements, its going to be India's 62 independence day today i.e 15th august. But i am away from my motherland for the 6th consequtive year, I remember the 50th Independence day celebrations and how grand they were back home in India, I wanted to document that historical event in my personal dairy, which i did and will be interesting to read that when i get a chance, as for now the famous Nehru speech is reverbirating in my mind " when the whole world sleeps , India awakes"
