The King of only good times - Vijay Mallya

I might be wrong, but from what I have heard and seen of this chap Vijay Mallya, he is a good businessman and the one who longs to be in the limelight for various reasons, His company UB groups is not doing baldy at all at the moment, recently it has become the second biggest producer of alcohol in the world and I congratulate him for this achievement. He has done some fantastic jobs in the sports world in the last few years like buying the Force India, Royal Challengers Bangalore ect. I know that he owns a posh hospital in Bengaluru and has built a landmark UB city in the heart of Bengaluru. He himself has good times and probably enjoys basking in the achievements of himself and his company.
I wonder as he done anything to the poor of his state or country, recently there were floods in North  Karnataka and even the third grade Reddy's of Bellary who are living by selling the soil of the land came forward to build houses for the poor, I know that they are politicians and have other things in their mind when they are doing this, but Mr Flamboyant Mallya who spends crores of rupees on swimsuit calendars, parties and auctions did not even build a single house or at-least contribute to the fund of the flood affected people. Come on Malli boy do some social service for god sakes, you are indirectly killing hundreds of people through your 'King of good times' brand , salvage some karma by doing good things in bad times.

Why do Indian Muslims grow beard after coming to UK

Has anyone ever wondered about this, or has any Indians settled in UK in the past 10 years or so thought about this, its an interesting phenomenon sweeping across the United Kingdom. I personally had a few muslim friends in India to be precise Bengaluru-Kolar and they were ok then in the sense that they at least behaved normally, would speak to us in Kannada and just be normal, religion was never a issue with them and their dressing was similar to any one of us, with a odd gowher wearing head scarf to college. Thats how it was until they came to UK, I started noticing changes in their behavior and language, they start growing beard and use the words like salam alikum, Inshalla and mashall frequently during a conversation, when these things never happened back home in India, is it a change just in them or the influence of their more radicalized brethren in the UK, only Allah knows. But after the Glasgow bomber was found to be from Bengaluru, its a concern for each and everyone of us, the thoughts and Ideas of extreme Islam will be taken back to India and a potential bomber will be created if they start to identify themselves as Muslim first and then Indian. Here I am not talking about ordinary laborers but professionals. At least I hope they have some sympathy for the people back home after-all its the Indian soil which has been providing them with a meal everyday. If at all they decide to go back to India they will they shave their beards and prevent a new trend from starting in our beloved Bengaluru.

Corus - Port Talbot

Always on my journey to and fro to west Wales wondered about this huge factory by the sea in Neath-Port Talbot, but never really bothered to find out as usual until something of my interest is associated with the place. It did happen about 3 years ago the Indian company Tata took over the Corus company , then I realized that it was a steel plant and it had to be with the huge furnaces spitting out smoke and fire. Was it a coincidence that I happened to live near that place when the take over took place, it was something to be proud of, and now it has become a definite tourist attraction for my relatives visiting me from India.

Indian Premier League - Murali Vijay

There is no doubt that the Indian Premier League is a big success both in India and abroad, I have been watching the developments back home form the past three years and it has indeed proven everyone wrong by becoming the most popular sporting event in India, ITV 4 have been broadcasting the matches live her in UK, I for sure don't know the ratings but by the talk of it and going by the number of ads during an IPL match i am a pretty sure that it is a big success and popular in UK as well not only among the Asian diaspora but also the native caucasians. The matches have been intense and exciting with a new record written and broken with each ongoing match.

My only complaint about the IPL is the timing of the matches, the season should start in middle of april when most of the school exams are over and kids will be having their summer holidays and can also enjoy the games , starting the season in march will clash with the exams of the kids and will affect their performance, I am telling this as I myself have gone through exams when I was thinking about the score or did not prepare as I would have liked as I had been watching cricket the previous day. Anyway thats my thought, I dont know about the kids nowadays.

I must not forget to mention about this chap Murali Vijay, i happened to see his innings against the Deccan Chargers and was really impressed by his batting, he is the person who should be groomed very care full, I can see the future of Indian cricket in him, got both timing and power and has got all the shots in the book. I can seen both Tendulkar and Dravid in him. mark my words he is destined to be famous.

Why only cricket is so popular in India

The whole world knows that the most popular sport in india is cricket and its popularity is once again proved by the India Premier League's success. I am here talking about outdoor team games. Growing up as a kid the only sport we played most of the times was cricket with football season starting and ending usually with the start and end of the football world cup, so why was it so popular with us kids then, the simple reason being all you needed was a bat and a ball and couple of people and there we go you can play cricket an moreover most Indian towns and cities have small play grounds and even if it is a big one the crowd is usually large so obviously cricket was easier and cheaper to play, and several teams could overlap and play in the same stadium or ground, you don't need all those expensive gears when you are playing with a tennis ball or a rubber ball.

Secondly its to do with the weather, I mean not the hot indian weather but the dry Indian weather, as the ground is wet and soft only for about couple of months in a year during the monsoons and then it dries up quickly and becomes hard, making it ideal for playing cricket and thats an other reason why indians are not good at outfield fielding as we are not used to the slides as you will be hurt badly if you fall on the hard ground, where as in countries like UK , the ground is so soft due to the year round rain, you can slip and slide on the ground without getting hurt hence the popularity of football and rugby in UK. the same reason applies why India is not good in football as our countryside is not suited for a rough game like football or rugby, one high chase fall or tackle can endanger a players life. Probably that is the reason football is relatively popular in wet states like kerala and west bengal.

Thirdly the media coverage cricket gets partly because it is the only team sport that India is any good at and it is the only sport where there is a good chance of India winning.

Shoaib ki arzi, Sania ki marzi

How dumb a women can become or for that matter men can become once the money and popularity gets into their heads. this women who is apparently a star in India , sorry a tennis star not a glamour model and nose ring promoter, has never won anything worthwhile for India in tennis and she still became a popular star and role model for millions of indian women, especially the muslim ones who in India are mostly illiterate and just baby producing machines and not allowed outside their homes. She comes along with mini skirts and tight t shirts flaunting her assets and giving a shit to the threats from the fanatic muslims of India. I thought that this is what Indian muslim women wanted a role model, who does not stick to the nomadic rites and rituals.

Then this women decides that she has had enough of all the publicity and decides to marry a dumb ass like Shoaib Malik who has said in an interview that he is married and has not divorced his first wife yet and now wants to marry Sania Mirza and take her has a second wife, the tragedy is that according to the Indian Law muslims are permitted to marry upto 4 times and this man can also do that, but what has happened to the superstar Sania, has she agreed to be his second wife, if yes then she should openly come out and say this in public, by doing so she will prove two things one is that there are no matching muslims suitable to her in India which is a shame and second his that she is encouraging the sharia law in India by agreeing to be a second wife, remember she was the women who had said that premarital sex is not wrong.

The one lucky guy to escape all this bullshit is Sohrab Mirza, who i am sure is laughing his hearts fill at the tamasha.

Llantrisant

A small Welsh village in the Rhondda valleys, nice little place to live in. Even though it is so small there is a huge retail park, and an ancient church at the top of a hill overlooking the village and the Talbot Green town. I fell in love with this place the day I came over here. My parents who visited and stayed with me for a while could not believe that this was a village, their impression of a village was entirely different. The weather obviously no different to that of anywhere else in the UK, rains most days.
But the situation of this village is interesting, to the south is the atlantic ocean and to the north the mountains and this village is situated on a small hilltop in the valley. So in summer if you are lucky and the sun is out you can either head to the many beaches or go to the brecon beacons national park in the mountains. Been living here for the past year and half and lot of things have happened in my life, would love to live here a bit longer if given a chance.

Kadamba

The other day one of my friends who happens to be from Karnataka and claims to be a Kannadiga casually was telling an other friend that Kannada will be extinct by 2160, crap , utter crap I thought and did not agree with him, how can someone claim a language will be extinct in another 150 yrs when it has survived for 2000 yrs and probably the 2nd oldest surviving Dravidian language after Tamil.
His arguement was that as more and more people learn English , Kannada will be lost as a spoken language and will only be in texts as Greek, Latin and Sanskrit are. Probably he does not know the story of Mayura Varma, the founder of Kadamba Kingdom, Famously protrayed by Dr Rajkumar in the movie 'Mayura' and the famous song ನಾನ್ ಇರುವುದೇ ನಿಮಗಾಗಿ ನಾಡು ಇರುವುದು ನಮಗಾಗಿ.
The great Kadamba was humiliated by the Tamil Pallava king as he was from Kannada speaking region and that humiliation of his language and land prompted Mayura to build a kingdom a Kannada kingdom, probably the only in the history of the world which was established to protect the pride of a language and land. Kannada of such greatness will survive till the end of the world.

Breathing Time

We have got a little breathing time, little time to recover fro years of abuse and onslaught by barbarians from the west, there is no deniying that we have gone back a 1000 yrs in terms of our civilisational achievements, and even though in this breathing time since Indian independence we are progressing a lot, but I am worried about the future we seem to have not learnt a single lesson from our past.

Mahadeshwara

Was listening to the song 'ನಿನ್ನ ಪೂಜೆಗೆ ಬಂದೆ ಮಹದೇಶ್ವರ' from the movie Psycho , it is a really good song, I congrats to the music director for bringing such a lovely song, fusion of western and kannada music, this is what the youngsters of Karnataka and bangalore in particular need, not just blindly follow the western habits and ideas, know your roots first, if it is strong you can grow if it is week then god save you and our culture.
