Veerashaivas and their devil called Yeddyurappa

People living in Karnataka and to some extent in India are well aware of this useless fellow called Yeddyurappa who is not even fit to be a headmaster of a primary school, became the chief minister of Karnataka, courtesy - his caste. he belongs to a numerically dominant caste called Veerashaivas or Lingayats. That's the only qualification he had to become the CM of a progressive and developed state of India. This man had several allegations against him, even before he became CM like that of murder of his wife and several corruption charges. remember he is the person who has failed his SSLC(10th standard) exams.

So this moron was imposed on the people of Karnataka by the BJP to appease the Lingayats of the state. And by god, the Lingayats were more then appeased not only by the BJP high command, but by Yeddyurappa himself, he thought that Karnataka is only made up of Lingayats,so he went on to induct only Lingayats in his ministry, only lingayats in all to jobs in the government including the police service. Then this chap went on giving government funds to the "Mutts"(Religious Ashrams), especially the lingayat ones.  These mutts who are supposed to be models for the lingayats and help them lead a good life, without any shame took the money given by yeddyurappa.

The lingayat mutts were a tradition started by Basavanna some 800 yrs ago to help eradicate the caste system and to guide people by his teachings of leading a ideal life bereft of corruption and caste ism. But the lingayat mutts of today are just money making machines, running several educational institutions including Medical and Engineering colleges, which demand huge amounts of donations from the candidates willing to join them. not only that they also act as a catalyst to their community members by helping them of preferring Lingayats over other community candidates in giving seats for education and offering jobs for employment.

The last three years under Mr Yeddyurappa has been the nexus between the government and the Mutts. They gave moral support to Yeddyurappa, legalised every crime committed by him and edrosed them without any shame. Their only backup and reasoning for all the illegal activities was -their caste - Lingayat/Veerashaiva. ironically Veerashaiva is supposed to mean brave shaivite, they were brave in defending their crimes, brave in diverting government money for their own use, brave in ignoring other communities of Karnataka and brave in showing their ugly faces in public after doing all this.

Recently these lingayats held their annual convention in Mysore, and hundreds of swamijis from all over the state had attended it and they unanimously took a decision to stand by and support Mr Yeddyurappa  in his crimes and misuse of government machinery and money. Shame on these people. Yeddyurappa has property worth several thousand crores of rupees which he got since he has become the chief minister, how did he get this money if not through manipulation and misuse of government machinery.

I hope and wish that Karnataka never in future gets a lingayat CM. Karnataka is not just made of Lingayats, their contribution to the state is just minimal anyway. Other communities should assert their presence against there corrupt people including their swamijis.
